Nicki Minaj Calls Herself Trump’s “No. 1 Fan” After Holding Hands at Summit

Nicki Minaj made headlines on Wednesday, January 28, after appearing at a summit in Washington, D.C. to promote the Trump administration’s new economic initiative known as Trump Accounts. During the event, the rapper held hands with President Donald Trump and spoke onstage, where she openly expressed her support for him.

After Trump invited her to address the audience, Minaj described herself as the president’s strongest supporter. She told attendees that her stance would not change, despite criticism she has received publicly.

Addressing Backlash Over Her Support

While speaking to the crowd, Minaj acknowledged the reaction she has faced since aligning herself with Trump. She said that negative comments and criticism have not affected her and instead have reinforced her support.

According to Minaj, the opposition she sees online and in the media motivates her to stand behind the president even more. She suggested that critics are attempting to undermine Trump and framed the backlash as a form of bullying.

Minaj told the audience that she believes Trump has strong backing and said she feels protected by faith. She closed part of her remarks by asking the crowd for agreement, receiving a positive response.

Financial Pledge to Trump Accounts Program

At the summit, Minaj also announced her intention to financially support the Trump Accounts program. She said she plans to pledge between $150,000 and $300,000 toward the initiative.

The Trump Accounts program was created under Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. It provides a $1,000 savings account for every child born between 2025 and 2028. The funds are invested in the stock market by private firms and become accessible when the child turns 18.

Minaj described her contribution as a way of paying it forward. She said that if she had access to a similar opportunity when she was younger, it could have significantly changed her life.

A Shift From Past Political Statements

Minaj’s appearance marked a notable shift from her past stance on Trump. In 2020, she said she would not support him. Since then, however, her public position has changed, and she has increasingly aligned herself with the administration.

Her remarks at the summit reflected a more personal connection to the president and his policies, particularly those she believes could benefit families and young people in the future.

Previous Appearances and Public Praise

This was not Minaj’s first recent appearance at politically focused events. In November, she made a surprise visit to the United Nations, where she spoke about what the Trump administration has described as faith-based persecution in Nigeria. The Nigerian government has denied those allegations.

In December, Minaj also appeared at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference. During the event, she participated in an interview with Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

At the conference, Minaj praised Trump’s appearance, describing him as handsome and dashing. She also spoke positively about Vice President JD Vance, saying she views both men as relatable and connected to everyday Americans.

Connecting With Voters

Minaj said she believes Trump and Vance have not lost touch with people from different backgrounds. She explained that she feels they understand younger and older generations alike, as well as Americans across economic classes.

According to Minaj, that connection is what makes her feel proud to support them. Her comments added to the growing conversation around celebrities publicly aligning themselves with political figures and policies.
