Piper Rockelle, an internet personality who first gained popularity on YouTube as a child, is facing public scrutiny after launching an OnlyFans account shortly after turning 18 and claiming she earned more than $2.9 million within its first 24 hours.
After teasing the move throughout December, Rockelle shared the subscription platform link across her social media accounts in January. Soon after, she posted what appeared to be a screenshot showing her first-day earnings. The post spread rapidly online before being deleted.
The alleged earnings quickly became a flashpoint for discussion across social media. One post reacting to the claim stated that it showed “we are cooked as a society,” to which Rockelle responded publicly. That reply was also later removed, though screenshots of both posts continue to circulate.
The conversation focused not only on the reported income, but also on the timing of the launch and what it represents within influencer and subscription-based platforms.
Rockelle first rose to prominence roughly a decade ago after her mother began posting videos featuring her on YouTube. Over time, she amassed a large following and later collaborated with other young creators in a content collective known as the “Piper Squad.”
Her online presence grew across multiple platforms, making her one of the more recognizable figures among youth-focused internet creators.
Following the announcement, many social media users expressed discomfort and concern. Some comments questioned the culture surrounding child influencers transitioning into adult content platforms, while others criticized the broader system that allows such rapid monetization.
Reactions ranged from labeling the situation as “disturbing” to framing it as a symptom of capitalism and online celebrity culture. Others focused on the scale of the claimed earnings, calling it alarming regardless of legality.
